Support → Custom Fields → Ticket Form Fields.

Ticket form fields are the fields displayed on your ticket form, allowing you to design or customize the form according to your needs. You can add existing fields from the available options here. However, new fields cannot be created directly in this section. If you wish to create custom fields, you can do so by navigating to Support → Custom Fields → Ticket Fields. Important:
The Name and Email fields are mandatory and cannot be deleted or removed from the form.

Add a new ticket form field

You can add a new ticket form field available in Ticket Fields and Customer Fields. 

Select field

You can select fields available to add from ticket fields and customer fields.

Is required

You can set whether or not the selected field is required. Required fields mean you need to fill that field to submit the ticket.

Width

You can set the width of the field in the form. There are three options available:

  • 1/3rd of the row: One-third of the row.
  • Half-width of the row: As the name suggests, it takes half the width of the current row. If there is no space for half-width, it gets shifted to the next row.
  • Full-width of the row: As the name suggests, it takes the entire width of the current row. If there is no space for full-width, it gets shifted to the next row.
Load after

You can set the order of the field using this option.

Visibility conditions

You can decide to show the selected field only when a specific condition matches. Fields will be hidden until the condition does not match.

You can set one or more conditions from available options and choose a relation between them.

  • AND – All conditions must be satisfied to view the field
  • OR – At least one condition must be satisfied to view the field.

As the name suggests, ticket fields are fields related to the ticket itself that may be system default fields, or you can also add custom fields to it.

You can add ticket fields in the new ticket form. It will be available in the Ticket Fields widget in an individual ticket visible to the users depending upon the visibility of this widget for agents and customers. However, only agents with the capability to Change ticket fields can edit the fields after the ticket is created.

It provides below customizations depending on field types:

  • Label – Name of the field.
  • Load after – Load order of the field in create ticket form.
  • Extra info – Extra information about the field for the new ticket form.
  • Default value – Set the default value for the field, which will be applied if it is not set while creating a ticket.
  • Auto-fill in ticket form – Auto-fill the field in the create new ticket form if the default value is provided.
  • Character limit – Set the number of maximum allowed characters.
  • Placeholder – Set the placeholder text.
  • Ticket list width – Set the width(px) of the field in the ticket list column.
  • Date display as (Display as) – Set whether you wish to show the date in date format or difference from the current date.
  • Date format – Set the date format (e.g. “Y-m-d H:i:s”). You can follow this link for reference to the format options. It will use the default date format set in general settings if not provided.
  • Has personal info – Set whether or not the field can hold the user’s personal information. For compatibility with GDPR, the system will export this information to a personal information file if a user requests it.
  • Field options – Set custom field options if applicable.

Here’s a short description of each custom field type in SupportCandy:

  • Textfield: Allows users to enter a single line of text (e.g., name, title).
  • Dropdown (Single-Select): Displays a list of options where the user can select only one.
  • Dropdown (Multi-Select): Displays a list of options where the user can select multiple choices.
  • Radio Button: Provides multiple options, but users can select only one.
  • Checkbox: Allows users to select multiple options using checkboxes.
  • Textarea: Enables users to input multi-line text, ideal for detailed descriptions.
  • Date: Lets users pick a date from a calendar interface.
  • Datetime: Combines a date picker with a time selector for timestamp input.
  • Number: Accepts numeric input; can be set to integer or float.
  • Email Address: Validates and accepts email addresses.
  • URL: Accepts valid website URLs.
  • Time: Allows users to input or select a specific time.
  • HTML: Lets you add custom HTML content to the ticket form (e.g., instructions, styling).
  • File Attachment (Single): Allows users to upload one file with their ticket.
  • File Attachment (Multiple): Permits uploading multiple files to a single ticket.
  • Woo Product: List all products from your Woo store.
  • Woo Order: List all the Woo order of the current user.
  • Woo Subscription: List all the Woo Subscription of the current user.
  • EDD Order: List all the EDD Order of the current user.
  • EDD Product: List all the product from your EDD store
  • LMS User Courses: List all courses purchased by the current user.
  • LMS Courses: List all courses listed in your LMS system.

You can find this setting in Support → Custom Fields → Agent only fields.

Agent-only fields are the same as ticket fields. The only difference is that it is not visible to the customers.

Agents with the capability Change agent only fields can update the agent-only fields in an individual ticket.

Customers can see agent-only fields in the ticket list if you add them to customer ticket list items.

As the name suggests, customer fields are fields related to customers.

You can add custom fields for the customer fields.

Customer field is available to add in ticket form fields only when it is allowed.

Customer field is available in the My Profile section of the support portal only when it is allowed.

Customer can edit customer fields in the My Profile section of the support portal.

Agents with the capability Edit customer info can update customer fields in an individual ticket customer info.

Site administrators can edit customer fields in Support → Customers.

Important:
The Name and Email fields are mandatory and cannot be deleted or removed.
