Overview

This section allows you to configure basic behavior and limits of the AI Chatbot.

Prerequisites for AI Chatbot Setup

Before using the AI Chatbot feature, you need to configure an AI Assistant by setting up the required provider and API key.

  • AI Provider Configuration
    Select and configure a supported AI provider (e.g., OpenAI) to enable chatbot functionality.
  • API Key Setup
    Enter a valid API key from your selected provider. This is required for generating AI responses.
  • Training the Chatbot (RAG – Retrieval Augmented Generation)
    Improve response accuracy by training the chatbot with your own data. Add FAQs, documentation, or custom content so the chatbot can use this information while responding.

Once configured, the chatbot will be ready to handle queries, provide intelligent responses, and assist users effectively.

How It Works

These settings help you manage how the chatbot interacts with users and how long conversation data is stored. You can set automatic deletion of old chat sessions and control branding visibility in the chatbot widget.

Options / Settings

Auto-delete AI chatbot sessions

Define how long chatbot session data should be stored before automatic deletion.

  • Enter a number and select duration (e.g., Days, Months, Years)
  • Old chatbot sessions will be deleted after the selected time
  • Helps keep your database clean and optimized

Show footer branding

Choose whether to display the “Powered by SupportCandy” message in the chatbot.

  • Yes – Shows branding in chatbot footer
  • No – Hides branding from chatbot

 

Number of Sessions per Page
Set the number of chat sessions to display per page in the Chat Sessions list.
Increasing this number allows you to view more sessions at once, while a lower number improves page load performance.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Go to Dashboard → SupportCandy → Settings → AI Chatbot
  2. Open the General tab
  3. Configure auto delete duration for chatbot logs
  4. Choose whether to show footer branding
  5. Set the Number of Sessions per page
  6. Click Submit to save changes

Notes / Tips

  • Regularly delete old chat sessions to improve performance
  • Disable branding if you want a fully white-labeled experience
